Ivan rounded a corner, his bow tight in his grip while his eyes scanned around the corner. They’d managed to run themselves into a quieter part of the district, heavily industrial but a lot of residents avoided this particular section. The grounds were heavily littered with little care taken to most buildings. A lot of glass littered the floor from windows above being broken, but their colors long stained by smoke and gases. The buildings were mostly abandoned, the occasional host to a drifter, but that wasn’t their concern at the time. A particular resident of Area D had earned himself three strikes, and currently in possession of a low grade firearm. Though rarely shot, Ivan assumed it to be loaded, as threats spelled by the youth continued to scream back at them while in pursuit.
He was on the trail with a friend by the name of Leon Johnson. Together they would bring down the altered criminal, but for now they remained in pursuit. Ivan’s breath was light, he was conserving his energy for later but remained on the trail enough to watch his location. In his hands he held his main weapon, a compound bow with an arrow locked into place. He watched carefully as the youth disappeared into a warehouse, it was large and old, the interior was a mystery though.
“I’ve lost sight, last seen entering building number 304, district 3.”
He transmitted over the headset, he was hoping that Leon was still in pursuit with him, although his location wasn’t known to the hunter.

Today was already becoming a task filled day. He was assigned to see through with the execution of an altered. This was his duty and if he was to make sure that he could end the life of his ex-wife, he had to be sure that he could follow through with an execution. He already had assisted in a few and pulled the trigger himself on some. Never did he enjoy it but he knew it was his duty, just as it was his duty to protect those who were innocent as a lawyer, but he proved to be a failure at that.
Leon had taken a detour in pursuit of the juvenile as the altered had ran away when Ivan and Leon showed up in the area and were spotted. Ivan had taken the direct pursuit route but the dark male was not to far from the location that Ivan had given off. The ear piece in his ear buzzing off to him as Ivan spoke. Pressing a finger against his ear, he would respond back to his partner as he ran on. "Roger, coming upon the building now. I'll continue pursuit within." It was only proper protocol to inform each other of what the other would do next, it helps coordinate plans and also save lives from possible friendly fire.
As he soon reached the building, he would draw his pistol from his leg holster. The first door he saw on the side of the warehouse he would enter through. Luckily it was still daylight and the light helped brighten up the abandoned building. Hearing some rattling coming from above, he would see the target running for the other side of the building to an exit. Pressing his hand to his ear piece as he jumped the stairs to catch up, he would speak into the mic again. "Target is heading for top back exit."
He would than raise his pistol as he reached the top of the stairs and fire two shots at the target, hoping to catch him before he exited through the door. "Shit." He would than take long running strides as he would run to reach the door that the one to be killed went through.

Ivan slipped along the side of the building, his strides carrying him towards the entrance that the accused used. His ear buzzed with the incoming information from Leon, an update on his location and plans. His eyes scanned the interior of the building, it’s depths dark but many rooms within made it hard to see beyond the initial room. Ivan could only hear echoed footsteps when he made his entrance, his sight was blocked by walls. He slowly made his way into the building. The steps slowly drifted away, the target was getting further into the depths of the building. It was a maze for the entrance Ivan had made, it was hard to dictate which way the accused had moved.
While pursuing further into the depths of the dark building, his earpiece buzzed again, this time updating the location of the suspect. Ivan turned on his heels and headed for the closest staircase upwards. He could no longer hear anything from his target, but if the information was accurate they would end up on the same level. He cleared two steps at a time heading up the flight of stairs before slamming into a door, his body pushing through the door onto the roof. As he made his way outside, he noticed the building was bigger than he had anticipated, they were on a mid-level roof, but there were entrances to higher levels. At least another three floors remained above which appeared only accessible from the rooftop he was on.
Cracks roared through the area, the sound of a pistol. Which one though he wasn’t sure, he was hoping Leon’s. He raised his bow to his cheek, the arrow stretching the distance, he could hear footsteps coming closer. The target rounded a corner into Ivan’s sight, and the young Russian smiled. His breathing was even and his aim was spot on. The hunter let an arrow loose. The arrow soared through the air, flexing lightly in its flight towards the target. Before it had even crossed the distance, Ivan had another locked into place and aiming. He stopped in his tracks given the reaction to the first shot. The initial arrow ripped through the air, but a meter or so before making contact, the ammunition hit an invisible wall. The shaft bent and snapped under the pressure and shards went flying in all directions.
The youth laughed at the attempt before raising his pistol and wildly firing a shot towards the Russian. The hunter dived behind cover, the shot crashing into the door he just came through, putting a dent in the metal. Using the distraction to his advantage, the youth disappeared into a door to the next levels.
“Target has an ability, a defense of some kind. Arrow did not work, even at close range.”

Seemed that this target was going to be a job to handle. Hearing a few shots ring out as he ran down the hall. Knowing that Ivan didn't use a pistol, he would sprint harder. His partners life was on the line and he couldn't allow for an innocent to die on his watch. As he was coming up to the door, Ivan would come through and rely some new information through to him.
Charging the door, he would hold his pistol up to see that the target was already gone from the area. Quickly looking over the area and seeing the door on the other side that was shot at, with his high resolution eye, he could also spot his partner hiding behind it, his shadow pointing him out. "Come on, he's going further up."

[/url] He knew that Ivan had to be okay or he would of radio his injury with the other information he just spoke of. His lone eye would look up as he would see a shadow on the next floor running down the hall. Next, he would crash through the door that lead to the next stairwell up. Ivan came out from behind cover with the disappearance on his enemy, the youth making his escape further into the building. He knew it was going to be a bit trickier from here however, a shield of some sort, he didn’t know anything further however, the specifics were hidden. He only knew his bow would be useless from here onwards, especially heading indoors. He sheathed the weapon, instead taking grip of his hunting dagger, pulling it from his sheathe. He came to stand behind Leon, letting him lead the way. Should he be a bit edgy? Yes, but he wasn’t, his adrenaline was definitely pumping but a strict clearness flowed through his mind. His actions and thoughts separate, his body was a machine.
The hunter followed closely behind with the bashing in of the door, they both entered. Ivan took to running onwards, he sprinted up the stairs before carefully turning a corner, they came to a hallway, possible the same one that Leon had seen the target on. It led two separate ways, the hunter checked each briefly but failed to spot any clues, only sound emanating from both hallways. He looked to Leon, his hands motioning as he talked. His ears however remained pitched on the sounds of the footsteps, trying to peg direction and location.
“You go left, I’ll go right. Let’s keep in contact, anything relevant, let me know and I’ll do the same. Good luck.”
He held out his fist to his partner, an old tradition of theirs from training. With a fist bump the hunter rounded the corner and made his way down the hall, his eyes dancing left and right throughout the complicated structure. The levels they were on were different. Each floor was nearly like office space, dozens of hallways and rooms all connected together, but only a little rougher. Trash littered the floors, the timber beneath stained with numerous fluids, the walls peeling and some were even destroyed showing the support and structure behind.

Once they were through the door, Ivan took the lead as he went after the altered. He was the better tracker of the two, so it only made sense for him to take the lead. Leon would follow behind the red haired male as they continued on to the next floor. His pistol was pointed to the ground as he made sure it didn't point towards his partner, basic gun handling manners.
Once they reached the next corner of the hallway where Leon lost saw the suspect, he would see that it went in two different directions. Nothing could be heard and it was still up here, either the juvenile had made it to the next floor already or he was hiding on this floor. Sadly, there was only one way to find this out and Ivan had already figured that out to it seemed.
Standing up straight, he would look towards his partner as he spoke his thoughts. "Same to you. Don't get hurt while I'm away." A grin would form on his face as he would fist bump with his partner just like their time spent in the Academy for the JTF. The Academy was like nothing he had heard of or seen, showing how to deal with alters of a certain category in different ways. Sometimes, they really were portrayed as monsters.
Turning around, he would begin to slowly creep down the hall. Listening for any sounds for the hall or even for something on the floor above. His lone eye was picking everything up that came within his vision. The Beretta was aimed at the ready as he would begin to scan over the area thoroughly.

Ivan remained low, his crouched figured slipping through the hallways, each room checked and cleared before he moved on. Silence was the only enemy he found however, everything dead quiet. In his right hand in a reverse grip was his hunting dagger, he was prepared for a sudden assault, or even some ranged combat. He was capable of throwing the dagger with decent accuracy, and given that chance, he would further release an arrow. Overall he was covered for just about anything. Most rooms were found empty, the occasional had a makeshift bed, be it newspaper, ragged clothing or even an intact mattress.
Slowly the beds started to pick up in numbers, originally few in between, but now their numbers multiplied rapidly. Even the quality started to increase. The idea had been in his head, but he was nearly definite now. They’d stumbled upon the quarters of something. More than likely one of the controlling gangs in the area. The building was oddly quiet though for such a high ranking place. It was odd for him to have the chance to search the building in peace. His finger jumped to his ear.
”Leon, we’re in a hive nest. Be fucking careful, any sign of danger let me know, this shit could get a whole lot worse before it gets any better. I’m going to try and call for back-up soon, but for now we need to find this fucker and take him down.” He wasn’t pleased with what they’d stumbled on, but he wouldn’t pass on the chance. If anything illegal was happening, he could find evidence and bring these guys down. His heart fluttered slightly at realizing how deep they were in. If these guys came back to find two JTF enforcers in their quarters, they wouldn’t be happy, however they would have the advantage of numbers. He only hoped that it wasn’t necessary, that the occupants of this building had taken for a walk, and wouldn’t be back for a long time.

Leon was beginning to feel an uneasy from within this place. Scanning through the rooms, it seemed to him that it was being used. He wouldn't doubt it, it wasn't like people were assigned living arrangements here, more like they only got what they could take in some instances. This was hard to bare, knowing that people couldn't get a proper place to lay their heads down at. Yet, at least they had the will to survive and make anything their own.
The bald male was beginning to think that the hall was clear. A buzz came over the earpiece as Ivan informed him of some unwanted knowledge. Seemed that this place was being used as a living quarters for a bunch of them. Keeping his back towards the wall, he would keep his pistol at the ready if anyone were to come out and surprise him. Stop down the hall, he would look around the corner of the next hall. "I'm taking the west hall, let's hope the bears stay gone while we look for goldenlocks."
He began to pick up his pace scanning through the area. The situation was becoming dire but he had to complete the task given to him. Leon was never one to panic but he didn't like being to pushed to the edge. His teeth gritted together as he prayed that they didn't return. With JTF already inside the building, it may go bad. Especially with the back-up on it's way, it could turn into a situation gone bad easily in the Eastern District.

Ivan started picking up his pace, still checking each room but not with such detail, he knew where they were, now he needed to know what was in store for them and where the assailant had gone. With his weapon still in hand, he started shuffling down the corridor at a fast pace, he needed to catch up to Leon. Each room that passed gave no results. The youth they were following had truly moved on, there were few rooms left for Ivan to search on the floor, and up ahead he could see the entrance to the staircase. No doubt Leon would be close too.
“Looks like he’s moved up a level, the door to the stairwell is open, All my rooms are clear.”
Moving with precision Ivan made his way to the last room, quickly ducking his head in to find it completely bare. His next thought was that the altered had taken to a room near Leon, but the open door was too big a clue. He waited near the entrance, the shoulder and back pressed to the wall for cover. A faint footstep could be heard from within making Ivan pause. He held up a signal to stop, away from the sight of the door. His mind raced through the possibilities, initially he would have assumed the target to head straight up. Something he more than likely would have considered had he not heard the faint movement.
Ivan crouched, motioning for Leon to stay hidden for a moment. Quietly the Russian pulled an arrow from his quiver. Taking a step back, still hidden from sight, he motioned towards Leon that he was going to throw the arrow through the door to the other side of the room, and that when he did, Leon should come out and take a shot. He nodded towards his partner, a distraction into the room would hopefully distract the youth long enough for Leon to clip, or even incapacitate the youth within.
Ivan raised his other hand, counting down from four, when the last of his digits dropped, he threw the arrow with force across the room.

Leon knew that his partner was close behind them and crept down the empty hall way slowly. Things were starting to make him feel uneasy but he was relaxed by the fact that he had a partner who had seen more battles than courtrooms, like himself. It was good to have an experienced partner that knew how to handle himself and situations. Leon couldn't say the same for himself though, it was still getting fully accustomed to the more physical aspects of this island.
He never had to confront that many people physically in his past. Yet, times had changed and after his direct confrontation with an altered, it had changed his outlook on things. Knowing that he had to be more prepared to take on one next time and to make sure that he made sure that his failure in life never got away to cause more harm. His lost eye was a symbol of that failure and he was forever scarred with it.
Stopping as Ivan caught up to him, he would look back at his red-haired counter part. "Guess there's nothing to see here." He would say as he looked towards the staircase with the open door. This was either negligence or an invitation, and if it was the latter than they would have to tread carefully. Allowing Ivan to take the lead, Leon would follow closely behind the man.
As soon as Ivan's hand went up, the bald male would halt in his approach and press himself against the wall. Watching the Russian pull out an arrow from his quiver, he would realize the game plan when it was gestured to him and giving a nod. His gun was already load with a round, he could only hope that he need to use one shot for the youth.
Once the arrow was tossed into the room, Leon would move to the lowest spot he could take, the floor. Jumping and sliding himself into the room, he would spot the arrow and a human inside, or what looked like a human, rather a crocodile human. They looked terrified by the sudden appearance of an arrow tossed into the room and a gun now pointed at them.
Getting up, he would look back towards his partner. "I think we missed something here." That's when he saw the assailant behind him, with a malicious grin on his face. The gun was pointed at them again, and Leon could see him beginning to pull the trigger. The tall male would reach down quickly for his partner and pull him into the room out of the way by his collar. Shots would soon be heard right after with a devilish laugh after it.
"This guy is playing with us."

Their target was proving to be more troublesome than the Russian had hoped. The arrow soared through the sky and crashed into the wall opposite. At the same time Leon had dived through, prepared to take a shot. The assailant was quick, supernaturally so. It slithered through the room and outside near Ivan, lifting the gun it had in his hands. Ivan began to counter but was sharply pulled back by his counter, thankful for the save. The gun exploded, drowning out the maniacal laughing of the altered who had just attempted to murder Ivan for a second time. The Russian swore in his home tongue before picking himself up.
”I’m done playing games, he is going to die today, and it will be soon. If we don’t do it now, whoever is coming will get here and we’ll still be chasing this guy around the floor.”
Sliding his dagger into the sheath, the Russian pulled his bow back out, knocking an arrow swiftly before lifting it high. He moved to the doorway, his head checking each direction before nodding clear. Each time he moved, his bow was up, the arrow resting on his cheekbone with his eyes aligned to the sight. Each step covered more ground, his approach to stealth removed by the necessity for speed.
”Head back around, we’ll try to cut him off again. Hopefully we can force him towards either.”
Ivan had tactical experience, but it became nearly useless when it involved supernatural humans who could ignore certain factors that you needed to rely on. Each corner was hugged by the Russian, only his eyes peeking across to get a view, he was hoping they could finish things sooner rather than later. Dusk would eventually hit, an even worse time for them to be where they were with no valid reason.

Fury was just as ready to get this over with as much as his Russian comrade. They needed to make sure no other Altered got their hands on a weapon again. Yet, he had to admit that at least they knew how to deal with a gun. He looked back at his partner as he stood pressed against the wall still. The taller man had to agree with his partner had to get this over with soon. It would seem that the best possible way was to try and surprise him. Ivan had the more silent of the weapon loadout of the two, so he had to make sure that he was able to set him up for a good shot.
"Copy that, let's end this, I'm starting to get hungry from it all." It was best that he kept his mind off such a strenuous task, he was still trying to get use to everything as a member of the JTF. The taste of death was always the same in his month, bitter and unwanted but it was needed. Seeing his partner arm his bow and head out the door, Leon would follow after him gun at the ready still.
Following in the steps of his partner, his training kept him going and working on slight habit. It seemed that Ivan was on auto-pilot mostly, this was the life that he knew after all. Hearing his partners plan, he would nod his approval. "Roger, I think we should try to catch him off guard. I'll try to draw him out if I can, you may be able to sneak a hit past his barrier." With those words, he would pat his partner on the shoulder before heading down the adjacent hall.

Ivan moved through the halls as quietly as possible, but again speed was his main priority at the time. His eyes narrowed on every object that crossed his path from sheer habit at the time, his caution would end up saving his life at some stage. He wasn’t sure where their target had gone, but he was hot on his heels and he would find him. There was absolutely no sign again of the youth in the building, everything had run itself quiet. He couldn’t even make out Leon’s footfalls anymore.
Out the corner of his eye, when pressed against a corner, Ivan noticed some movement. Instead of following through he remained at his location, the entrance the movement was near was roughly 10 meters off. The Russian had no need to follow through as he knew the room to be a dead end, his search earlier on his way through the first time had taught him that. His hand slowly moved to his ear, subconsciously trying to avert any sound at all that would trigger the youth’s hearing.
“I’ve got movement, circle around but keep hidden. He’s trapped in a room, this time we need to be cautious to our approach.”
The Russian whispered gently into his com unit. The hunter lowered himself around the corner, hidden from the hallway, his ears listening in the distance for movement. He pulled back in bow and turned, only part of him escaped the depths of the corner, his bow, eye and part of his arm would be all that was visible. His sights were trained a meter from the entrance to the room, any rapid movement out would put them roughly in his sights, and he could adjust for anything slower.
Now the waiting game.

Leon could feel his adrenaline rushing through his bloodstream at this point. The tension was rising and the end goal was right around the corner. They had cornered the rat but rats tended to know how to get themselves out of a hard place. It wouldn't happen again though, this game of cat and mouse was getting tiring and his stomach was aching for some food.
Creeping around the hall, things seemed to go still and quiet. The calm before the storm had commenced, that only let him know that the juvenile was waiting for the right moment for him to get the jump on the two again. Yet, he doubted that he would expect them to come from opposite directions, especially with just the two of them, but they had the versatility to do such a thing and were trained as such.
Picking up the message through the com-link as he rounded the corner. Seeing his partner taken up a position on the opposite corner, the eye patch wearing man would place his back against the adjacent wall and begin to creep towards the door that his partner had his arrow pointed at. Nodding his confirmation at the Russian, he would slowly make his way towards the door.
As he reached the entrance, he would look at his partner in the eye. Seeing that he was ready for his move, Leon would disappear inside the room and spot the hooded juvenile. He was ready for them it seemed but as he pulled the trigger on his gun, it would jam up. The bald man had his gun up already and took a shot, but the kid had his barrier up that made the bullet defect off of him.
Gritting his teeth, Leon would watch as the kid just tossed the gun aside and rush him. Tackling the man done in surprise but Leon allowed himself to stumble back out of the room. They began to struggle but he knew that he had the youth in the sight of his partner.

Ivan rested gently on the corner, the mechanisms in his bow along an extended hold on the string without pressure on his body. The arrow lay silent, the sleek material waiting for the chance to fly loose and strike its target. His peripheral vision picked up on Leon moving down the hall, he remained perfectly still, his muscles locked into place to avoid detection and to steady his own aim. He was intent on finishing their mission soon, the bastard they’d been tracking was still avoiding their grasp temporarily but he wouldn’t have it so given another chance. They’d messed up once, his focus was borderline extreme.
Ivan watched his partner enter the room; to him it was slow motion. What felt like a full minute before even the gun explosion reached his ears, and another before they came crashing out of the room. His senses picked up on the movement but his fingers halted their release. Leon had come flailing out of the room with the target in his arms. Leon crashed on the opposite side to Ivan, the target between them. Instantly Ivan ducked behind the corner, his arrow still nesting in place.
The assailant jumped off of Leon, as soon as he made purchase with his feet, he pivoted and ran from the JTF enforcer. Ivan had predicted this, hiding his presence for a second. After counting a second in his head, he remade his place at the corner, his bow ready and aiming. At the time Ivan came to place at the corner, the youth was looking over his shoulder at Leon, unaware of the other JTF enforcer.
Ivan released the arrow, his aim for the chest. The arrow carved through the air like butter, cleaning up the distance in no time. The arrow collided with the youth’s left shoulder, his shield vacant from his distraction. A slight grunt was hurt upon impact, the broad-head arrow digging deep into his shoulder. The Russian instantly placed his bow on the ground upon release, his feet rushing him the short distance to the temporarily stunned opponent. The youth tried a right hook, Ivan blocked with his left forearm on the inside, his right rushing in for a quick jab to a point in his right shoulder. The strike would have numbed the muscle and made it sore. The Russian wasn’t done however, his left knee dropped to the ground while his right arm cocked itself back. Having lowered his position to the legs, Ivan drove his fist forward into the flesh on his target’s leg. The strike instantly paralyzed his entire calf causing the youth to drop.
Instinctively he continued even further, his dagger in his hand and at the throat in moments upon his collapse. Bright orbs narrowed at the youth, hatred showing through.
“You alright brother?”
