NOTES So, first Blue Eyes Post | [atrb=vAlign, top] Books. If there was one thing that Mai could qualify as positive on Area D, it'd be the library. The sheer amount of books in it, about any topics was overwhelming. And a haven of peace for her. It was as if there was a common rule among all the groups that the library was not to be touched or damaged. She was at the moment browsing in a section in which she had never set foot in. Astronomy and astrophysics. She had never had much interest in that domain, as she had always been more of an Alpha person. Languages were her forte, as well as art, history and music. She had some medical knowledge and was pretty decent in maths she guessed. But physics. Mai remembered those classes to be a bit of torture. It wasn't that she wasn't mentally capable of the subject. No, it was more that she never managed to follow with the flat facts of it. But now, she guessed, she had a reason to want to know more about the universe that surrounded Earth. Recently, while going in the Beauties district, she had spend some time watching the stars. It was an advantage they had here, on Area D. The sky was clearer and the stars showed themselves. And she had seen three stars aligned. She remembered having read in a book that said that the three pyramids of Egypt had been build aligned on some constellation called Orion. Curious about them, she decided to do some research. Mai paused in front of a row of books and fell into a deep thinking stage. She thought about the Gorillas, Area D, her situation in general, once more. She missed her family, but now that she was among people who had a similar situation as hers and that she was free from certain restraints of society, Mai found her life more bearable now. No more threats from a step father, her brothers didn't suffer from poverty anymore, even if one of them was on Area D as well and she hadn't found him yet and the other was dead. She was free to study, to learn, to teach. The only set backs were the violence and how tightly people were kept in line by the 'local police'. But then...she hadn't ever gotten in trouble personally, so that was fine she guessed. And no one she knew had gotten killed either, which was good too. Her fingers traced a book about constellations and she took it off the shelf, turning it around to read the description of it. Mai wondered suddenly if her old boss, Naru, knew about her situation. The man, who was too immersed in the supernatural to understand humans fully - he had always worried her somehow. Wasn't it for her and his assistant, she doubted he would even know how to cook an egg. The blue haired woman lacked friends. She suddenly realized that. And with that thought, she went to sit down at a table, flipping the pages of the book until she found what she had come for.

The violence and the bloodshed terrified her. Still, she stood tall and firm, unwavering to the chaos. She tried to keep herself back into the background, avoiding the conflict and drama as much as possible. She was a pacifist by nature, but that doesn't mean she isn't willing to bite and claw at people with her teeth and claws to defend herself. At the thought of her...usual traits. A frown appeared on her features. Before she arrived on Area D, she was remotely human looking. Sure, her hair is more untameable then most, but that was it. However, after that incident and capture, her genes seemd to be kicked into overdrive. Her canine teeth became sharper and longer, like fangs. Her nails tend to grow sharp and requires a lot of attention. At that though, she glanced at her nails. She really needed to cut them down a bit. OH, but the worst was the last trait. Those damn Neko Ears! Those annoying cute and fluffy cat ears on top of her head. These she currently hide under a black and red bandana. She would have preferred if she had pointed ears or something....but the aftermath of the Supernova have to lead her to have cat ears? Sure, she could understand why. She had transformation/mimicry of animals. Compared to most people like her, she is pretty vestile. Not one animal, but four choices! She also was sorta satisified with the passive effects too. She was more stronger and faster and durable as well. Still, it would have been better if regular humans wasn't so paranoid and maybe envious of her and fellow Altereds. Sighing, she placed down her book and looked around the library for another. Currently, Kagerou was in the library looking at the books. She was currently looking at some herbal and medical books. Some were from ancient cultures and other was more modern. Before she arrived and draged to Area D, she was a pretty famous doctor and scientist of some sort. It figured that she will try to become a scientist and doctor. At that thought, Kagerou let out a low chuckle. Her dear father and dearly departed mother were both scientists in the medical field before opening their scientic and medical buisness that bloomed into a wealthy cooperation. Kagerou gave a sigh and glanced around the library and gave a sad smile. Sometimes, she holed herself up in this place to escape the pain and terror of this nightmare of a prison. Even if she was a "Western" territory person, she agreed to many of theories and ideas of the "Southern" region. Still, she was sad and slightly depressed that she was lonely. A frown appeared her features as her feline ears flatten on her head underneath her bandana. Yeah, she didn't have much companionship. She lost most of her friends and family when she arrived here. She wished she had friends and companions, so she won't have that nagging feeling in her chest. Glancing up again, she looked up from the table from where she reading, and saw a blue haired women. Odd color per say, but her pink hair is unusual colored too. She glanced at the book she was reading and decided to walk over. With grace of a feline, she walked over, and tapped the blue haired women's shoulder and decided to try and start up a conversation. "Good evening, are you looking for something?" Kagerou said with a smile, her cat ears twitching underneath the bandana on her head. "I must admit...Astronomy is a pretty important topic, in my opinion. In the past, it helped developed cultures and nations."WORDS: 608 TAGS: Blue, Open NOTES: First Post in a While and on Here we need the excitement in our lives. |

NOTES So, first Blue Eyes Post | [atrb=vAlign, top] Mai was not a regular in the Beta areas of the library. Science wasn't her thing and thus she stuck to the other floors where she could find her domains of work as well as novels. She knew the people there, the regulars who came for the same type of books and information. She even got to help a few newer ones in the library, those who could barely read and those who had never thought to ever touch a book in the lives again. And so far, she had entered the place twice. Once to discover it. A second time to help someone looking for a maths book. Otherwise, she had no idea of who came around here. It seemed bigger, in her opinion. Less cozy. As if science told people to be more serious, stick to plain facts and avoid any deviations that the creative minds of people tend to do. Which wasn't really her style in all honesty. She liked going a bit further, into some fantasy world where things could be shifted that tiny bit that made everything more likable. But she found herself lucky. Once more. A friendly looking person with long pink hair came to her. She wore a large bandanna on her head and seemed to be someone who knew the place from what she could tell of the book she was carrying around. A medical book. The title seemed to be giving a hint about the seriousness of the document and she took note of the author. As it concerned history as well, it did interest her as subject. Mai didn't make much of the woman's appearances. She had learned soon enough with her brother that it didn't matter what you looked like - it was the inside that counted. And really, who was she to say that someone lacked in looks? She had gotten blue lips and blue hair when the supernova hit the Earth! And really, pink hair was cool in her opinion. And it suited this woman very well - gave her something cute-ish. "I'm not that knowledgeable about astronomy. Or any of the domains on this floor." she answered with a warm smile. "I was looking about trying to find something about the Orion constellation."Mai gestured to the chair next to, inviting the other woman to sit down and made herself a bit more comfortable on the chair, leaning back and stretching her legs. Having felt uncomfortable in the science department of the library, a certain stiffness had taken over her body, leaving her standing and sitting like a marble doll. "My name's Mai. But people, especially men, tend to call me Blue Eyes." she presented herself with a snort when mentioning her nickname. "What's your name?"

Kagerou thought as he mused to herself. That was true, she saw her in other parts of the library but never got a chance to speak with her. Mostly, she saw her in the recreational and novels area. Kagerou could recognize her because of her blue hair and lips. Not that she should be speaking. She had dark pink hair originally, like a deep reddish-pink. However the Supernova enhanced the pink in her hair. Leading it to the today's result. She usually organized and read the books in the science zone. This may because of her doctor and scientist background. She enjoyed it, but enjoyed all books in general. Well, except horror! Horror terrifies her. Kagerou adored books so much, she got a part-time job in this library. Not that being a doctor is bad, but sometimes you need something else to spice your bored life on this dreaded island. "I'm not that knowledgeable about astronomy. Or any of the domains on this floor." Oh? So this women is not a reuglar on this floor? Well, her theory was right. She WAS looking for something. But just what was she looking for that caused her to adventure to this zone. "I was looking about trying to find something about the Orion constellation." 'Hm, so this person is more based around history and novels? I guess she is a teacher or social worker on some sort.' Kagerou pondered as she glanced at the women's face and nodded as she spoke. At the nickname and snort, a small grin appeared on Kagerou's features. This revealed her slightly sharper then average canine teeth. "The name is Kagerou Mikadzuki, it's a pleasure meeting you Mai." Kagerou said in a calm and polite tone. "As for me? I hadn't got any nicknames of that sort." With that, Kagerou gave a shrug. Yep, she never received a nickname. That made her an oddball on this island. She was proud of herself and her identity, so why should she get a nickname? It seemed silly. Sure, friends called her Hibara or a few other names based on her hair color and stuff, but they never stuck for long. "Hm, Orion you say? We have a few books based on the constellation. Mainly mythology and science based literature and reports. Any particular branch or topic about Orion do you want to know about?" At this Kagerou gave a frown and scratched her head. "Just what type of book on Orion are you looking for?WORDS: 400 or so? TAGS: Fong, Open NOTES:N/A we need the excitement in our lives. |

NOTES So, first Blue Eyes Post | [atrb=vAlign, top] She chuckled and nodded to Kagerou's comment about having no nickname. She found it kind of ridiculous to have one as well, failing to see the point of it. Your parents gave you a name to call you by - why try to do a better job than them? Your whole being was build around that name eventually, not the nickname you suddenly receive in the middle of your adulthood. "Kagerou is a fine name. I do not see the point of calling you anything else, really." Mai flipped the pages of her book, but then closed it with a dissatisfied frown. It was too 'sciency' for her. She didn't understand all the maths and physical rules included in it ) it ruined the reading experience for her. Despite the pretty pictures and some interesting side notes she had noticed. She'd remember what was written on those few pages for the rest of her life - her memory had become so powerful that it was as if she had a photographic mind. But even better, she supposed. Mai hadn't put much time into exploring her powers in whole yet. "I would appreciate some historical reports if there are any here. There are a few in the historical areas, but they are spun mostly around a vague story of some hero or god. Having something a bit more concrete would be appreciated, yeah."She stood up and picked the book up, looking expectantly towards Kagerou. "Are you a Gorilla?" she suddenly asked. "I mean, the groups are so large and I never got to meet everyone really. Or see everyone. And even sometimes you meet people from other factions that it makes everything kind of confusing really..."Mai smiled a bit awkwardly and rubbed the back of her neck, looking a bit troubled. "I'm...not doing a really good job of trying to get on friendly terms, aren't I? It's so different to deal with people here, compared to how things went back then among non altered people."The blue haired woman refused to call those without super powers 'normal' or 'humans.' They were all humans and being an altered, in her opinion, was the same as one was black or white of skin. It didn't make them even more dangerous or freaky compared to other humans. Heck, non altered people could do as much, if not more damage than those who were 'victims' of the supernova. And, she was sure that every single altered on this island knew it. Because, without fail, those who entered this place were welcomed with death in the middle of their faces. And those deaths were created by the JTF...Not the altered. In fact, she would put her finger on it - more than half of the altered who arrived here were innocent citizens until politics decided they had to be shipped off. "Has it been long since you arrived here?"
